Before signing with Sureswipe, electrical supplies franchise ACDC was making between R4 million and R5 million in monthly sales from card payments. In 2019, this figure has grown to R18 million.
Four years ago, ACDC switched from its card payment machine provider to Sureswipe – and it wasn’t a question of price, says ACDC Express GM Morné Coetzee. “We’d rather work with a company that’s more hands-on and understands our needs at a fundamental level,” he explains.
Sureswipe equips all ACDC express stores with a card payment solution from their first day of operation, says Morné. This means new franchisees can start accepting card payments from the moment their store is launched, instead of waiting weeks to be set up.
Staff are also trained quickly and efficiently by the Sureswipe team, which means they’re under less pressure during peak sales times because they’re familiar and comfortable with the system.
“ACDC is the only business in its field offering its customers a national Loyalty programme,” notes Morné. “Our research shows that basket spend has increased by 137% since we implemented Sureswipe’s Loyalty programme in our stores.”
Implementing Loyalty in their independently-owned electrical retail stores has also allowed ACDC to increase its customer database and have a clearer understanding of its customer profiles and their spending habits. “Now we can tailor-make quarterly specials according to these customer insights,” says Morné.
